RIGA hopes to bounce back from injury against Middlesbrough.
The flying Dutch winger was put out of action in the 2-0 win against Manchester City a fortnight ago after a mis-timed tackle by Richard Dunne. The lay-off came just when the 27-year-old looked like breaking into the first team for the first time since his summer move from Levante, following a string of impressive performances from the substitutes’ bench.
“It has been so frustrating,” he said. “I had worked so hard and the fans had been so great to me. When it happened, I nearly wanted to cry."
